Connie…
Shooting into the sky can really throw an exposure meter. This was shot one stop under the camera’s meter. Hardware: EOS 1D MkIIN, EF70-200mm f/2.8 + Sigma 1.4x converter Exposure: ISO250, 1/1000s @ f/9, -1EV, 180mm Post: Cropped, cleaned sensor dust marks, sharpened.
This scene, shot in Madrid, Spain, was shot in the early morning light. I held the camera against a pole to prevent camera shake. Hardware: Canon G7 Exposure: ISO unknown, 1/4s @ f/2.8, 7.4mm focal length Post: No changes
Rusty…

Hardware: Canon EOS 5D MkII, 15-35mm f/2.8L Exposure: ISO100, 1/1250Continue reading “Rusty…”

Requires a smooth flowing motion of camera and lens as the shutter is gently released. James Toseland at Phillip Island, 2010. Hardware: CanonContinue reading “Race action…”

Although seeing detail in the camera’s LCD was impossible, I could see enough to make out the rough composition I needed for this panoramic. I shot eight frames andContinue reading “Beach Pano”
Macro with no viewfinder…
Let me just say I like my Olympus EP-1, but it’s not a great camera for macro work. I’ve never tried a DSLR four-thirds kit for macro, but I reckon it would be excellent: it’s the smallest format being taken seriously in regard to high quality lenses, camera bodies and sensors, and the inherent extraContinue reading “Macro with no viewfinder…”
