This small crab was hiding in a cave above the ocean waterline, well protected from predators. Surprisingly, the combination of his dark colouring and the white rocks meant the correct exposure was just what the camera’s meter indicated.

Exposure: ISO200, 1/250s @ f/2.8
Post: Crop, sharpening, increase contrast.
